For over three decades, the Parent-Infant Center has provided high quality child care to the families who live and work in the diverse neighborhoods of West Philadelphia.

Joanna Footman

Lead Teacher
I am so glad to be back working with infants. It is great to be at the beginning -- the very first stepping stone in a child's learning and exploration.

Joanna is excited to join PIC as the Lead Teacher in the Caterpillar classroom.

With over 16 years in childcare, Joanna's position just prior to joining PIC was working with preschool age children. With infants she loves watching the children learn to be themselves.

Joanna, in her words "fell into teaching." She has an associate degree in video production. Once she began working with children, she realized how much she loved it and wanted to learn more about child development.

Joanna earned a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education from Chestnut Hill College in 2013.

Born just outside Philadelphia, she now resides in Mt. Airy with her husband, their 3-year-old son, and her mother. When not at PIC, Joanna loves to spend time with her family, especially out in nature. She appreciates the chance to relax and unplug from phones and tv, and enjoys sharing that with experience with her son.
