Zoo Came to PIC

Preschoolers touching a big cat pelt with the zoo on wheels

Last week, Marina from the Philadelphia Zoo’s “Zoo on Wheels” program came to PIC!

The Fireflies, Peanuts, Starfish, Grasshoppers, Leapfrogs, and Roadrunners learned all about mammals, reptiles, and birds. The children met Bentley the Chinchilla, a mourning dove, and a blue-tongued skink.

Together, our preschoolers learned about the characteristics of each group of animals, how they are different, and how they are the same.

We thank the Terri Lynn Lokoff Foundation for this opportunity to experience the Philadelphia Zoo’s educational program. The Lois B. Cohan Museums to Go grant is given by the foundation to bring age-appropriate cultural, music, educational and theater programs from top-notch institutions to area classrooms.
