Past PIC Board Member Profile

Mary Beth Fedirko learned about PIC through her co-workers, two other early childhood education professionals, who were board members. When Pam Holland and Lisa Hoke invited her to a meeting, she happily accompanied them. She remembers feeling energized by the body of board members that worked full-time and then spent personal time as volunteers.

As a board member she was on the Diversity Committee along with Karen Wolfe. She also got involved with fundraising, and chaired ArtStart in 2016. She believes it is important that PIC has the financial support it needs so that every family can have their own PIC experience.

Mary Beth’s engagement with PIC has continued beyond serving on the Board and various committees. Her son Myles attended PIC. She loved seeing the Reggio Emilia influence in his classrooms. She and her husband Rob have found lifelong friends at PIC. Mary Beth believes PIC helps parents connect, network, and supports working families in ways that impact families for years.

“To be able to send my son to a program that embodies everything that I believe in as an ECE educator is a gift beyond measure.”
