Process

To enroll in any PIC program, you must first complete an application form and return it with a one-time, non-refundable fee of $35 (this may be waived for families eligible for subsidized care and for families eligible for Pre-K counts).

After your application is processed, your family's name will go on our waiting list. The wait for enrollment varies, but is often 12-18 months for many families (longest for infants). PIC generally follows a first-come, first-serve policy, although currently enrolled families are given special consideration. The Family Life Coordinator tries to keep classrooms full while maintaining a balance of age and gender. Some other factors that may influence enrollment are flexibility of your schedule or start dates.

Once you are on the waiting list, we recommend that you to check in every two to three months with the Family Life Coordinator to update information or to express ongoing interest in enrollment. Your family’s entry may be deactivated if we don’t hear from you on a regular basis. If you make other child care arrangements, please let us know so we have an accurate number of families who are hoping there will be room at PIC.
