For more than 30 years the Parent-Infant Center has provided high-quality, community-based child care to families who live or work in West Philadelphia.
In Fall 2007, PIC launched an ambitious fundraising campaign in memory of Marni Sweet, a visionary and dedicated child care professional who was executive director of PIC for 25 years. Marni was lost to brain cancer just months after setting a strategic course for the center's expansion.
The $1 million Sweet Dreams Campaign will realize Marni's dream of an entire city block devoted to supporting young families. We are just $130,000 away from achieving our goal! The Sweet Dreams expansion will:
- Support renovation of the Marni Sweet Building to expand PIC's capacity by 30%, providing care for at least 50 more children
- Create a PIC children's library and parent resource room
- Build a fully-equipped staff resource room
- Expand community playgroup programming
- Renew outdoor play spaces, including children's gardens
- Fund improvements in classrooms throughout the Spruce Building, PIC's longtime home
Please support the Sweet Dreams Campaign and help us fill the gap. Make a gift or pledge of $500 or more and be recognized on the Giving Tree in the Sweet Building entrance.
