Camp vs. EL Classroom
February 23, 2016
For children going to kindergarten in the fall, families have the option of their child remaining in his or her classroom throughout the summer or enrolling their child in our Summer Camp program that runs nine weeks between June 27 and August 26.
The Summer Camp program at PIC is a good option for many children going into kindergarten as it provides a nice transition to our school age programs for those who may be attending our After School Center in the fall.
Children in the Summer Camp get a good sense of the after school environment, our teachers, and the program. Summer Camp also provides a different type of experience than the school-year with lots of outside adventures. Families can choose the weeks/sessions that they wish to enroll in for the summer.
We realize that this is an individual decision for each family and much of the decision comes down to each child’s individual personality, in addition to other factors.
Learn more about the wonderful summer we have planned for this year and see the 2016 Summer Camp Brochure. Enrollment is first-come, first-served, but we give preference to PIC families through the end of March.
If you decide on Summer Camp, we highly suggest that you complete and return the 2016 Summer Camp Application Form as soon as possible as the sessions fill very quickly, especially in the youngest age groups.
